The effectiveness of a program based on a creative drama in developing of self-awareness for kindergarten children

Abstract

The current research aims to verify the effectiveness of a program based on a creative drama to develop of self-awareness for kindergarten children, and to identify the dimensions of self-awareness and appropriate skills associated with them for kindergarten children. The researcher used the quasi-experimental method and the research sample consisted of (30) male and female children from Rifaat Official Language Kindergarten among (5 - 7) years old. The sample was chosen randomly and the researcher prepared a program based on a creative drama to develop of self-awareness for kindergarten children. And the pictorial self-perception scale for kindergarten children. The results showed the positive impact of the creative drama program on developing of self-awareness skills among kindergarten children. Therefore, the researcher recommends the necessity of paying attention to dramatic activity programs and activating them within the daily program of the kindergarten child and for them to be essential within the daily content as well as the necessity of developing of training programs for kindergarten teachers at fields of creative drama and self-awareness.
