Abstract

The study aims to reveal the relationship between self-compassion and mindful eating among a sample of mothers of autistic people. The problem of the study is how much both mindful eating and self-compassion vary according to demographic variables (age - social and economic level), as well as studying the possibility of predicting self-compassion through self-consciousness. Mothers of autistic children. The study used the descriptive and correlational approach. The study sample consisted of (100 mothers). The researcher designed two scales: a measure of self-compassion and a measure of mindful eating. The results showed that the higher the degree of self-compassion, the greater the degree of mindful eating. It confirmed that there are no statistically significant differences in the average scores of the age groups (the upper group from 31 to 37) and (the lower group from 24 to 30) on the scales of conscious eating and self-compassion among the sample members (n = 100) in relation to the age groups of the sample members. The study found that there was no statistical significance at the economic and social level for mothers of autistic children
