Abstract

The research aimed to reach some procedural proposals that help Egyptian universities develop the twenty-first century skills of their students in order to meet the requirements of the future labor market. The study followed several steps, the first of which was defining the theoretical framework for each of the twenty-first century skills in terms of their definition, the emergence of their concept, characteristics, and classification. In addition to clarifying the labor market in terms of its concept and requirements for skills and future jobs, the study then touched on clarifying the relationship between developing twenty-first century skills among university students and achieving labor market requirements. Then the study mentioned the most important basic tools and methods that universities rely on in developing first century skills. Twenty-first century skills among students, according to what was approved by the International Partnership for Twenty-First Century Skills. The study then touched on the reality of developing twenty-first century skills in Egyptian universities by presenting the reality of the educational environment, professional development for faculty members, curricula, and teaching methods.
