The Level of Professional Knowledge Domain Achievement of Mathematics Teachers in Saudi Arabia According to the Standards of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission

Abstract

The objective of the current research is to reveal the level of achievement of the field of professional knowledge from the standards of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission for mathematics teachers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve the objectives of the research, the descriptive approach was used in its survey style. Where the sample was determined by a comprehensive enumeration method, and the research tool consisted of a questionnaire prepared for this purpose, which consisted of three basic criteria (knowledge of linguistic and quantitative skills - knowledge of the learner and how to learn it - knowledge of the content of the specialty and its teaching methods). Several results were reached, the most important of which is that the average response of the respondents to the fields as a whole indicates that the level of practice was of a medium degree. Results The research presented several recommendations, the most important of which are - encouraging and motivating mathematics teachers to join vocational training programs to raise their professional and scientific levels, and working to develop professional development programs for in-service mathematics teachers according to studied scientific foundations.
