Abstract

This research aimed to explain the significance of the new reading view of the Holy Qur’an according to Taha AbdulRahman and its relationship to his entrusting theory. The study demonstrates the importance of establishing a new reading view of the Holy Qur’an that is characterized by impartiality and objectivity away from stagnation and rigidity in understanding and Taha AbdulRahman’s position from the imitative modernists in their reading of the Holy Qur’an emphasizing the inviolability of the Qur’anic text and its holiness while working of mind to establish that the Holy Qur’an is sacred and a revelation from God Almighty, and to invalidate all claims of contemporary modernists and their suspicions about the Holy Qur’an. the descriptive approach was used. The definition of the reading view of the Qur’anic text was introduced, Then the significance of the entrusting theory of Taha AbdulRahman and its foundations was determined, the general principles of his new reading were presented and his position towards the imitated modernist approaches in dealing with the Holy Quran. The results showed that the new reading of the Qur’anic text was based on theories that have roots in the Islamic heritage and keep pace with the requirements of the era, and the importance of upgrading the effort of reading the Qur’anic text in light of consideration and diligence in order to achieve the required creativity. This research recommended inviting scholars to address the issues through which modernists intend to challenge the Holy Qur’an under the slogan of renewal and consideration
