Abstract

The influence of climatic elements varies across the study area; This is due to the presence of some local influences, which affect the heritage buildings in the region, resulting in damage and deformation. This effect varies according to the difference in temperatures between winter and summer and night and day. This causes expansions in the walls and contractions, the danger of which lies in recurring; This leads to a loosening of the walls and gradually disintegrates its parts, and sometimes the walls may collapse completely. Relative humidity also affects the surfaces of stones, in addition to being the most dangerous physicochemical damage factor that contributes to most chemical weathering processes, causing severe damage represented in the cracking and collapse of heritage buildings.
The urban heritage is a cultural wealth that represents the values, ideas, customs and traditions of peoples. Therefore, the authenticity of these buildings must be adhered to and preserved. Hence, it is necessary to study the heritage buildings in terms of the climate impact on them. And maintenance of them to treat the deterioration that befell them, in addition to taking specific and clear measures to determine the causes of the disease and the most appropriate treatment in line with its nature and composition and to ensure that it remains in good condition.
