Abstract

Aim of research is to study" The impact of the Roundhouse diagram strategy in the development of a deep understanding and motivation to learn science at Second grade preparatory pupils. The sample consisted of (90) male and female students who were distributed into (45) students of the experimental group, (45) students of the control group, of students second preparatory in Giza for the year 2018-2019, Where first group (experimental) studied the two units "periodicity of elements and their properties" and "the atmosphere and protection of the planet" using strategy Roundhouse diagram, while second group (control) studied the two units in the traditional way, and followed researcher prepared the experimental method, where researcher prepared the test of deep understanding and the motivation scale to learn science and verify its validity and consistency, then prepare the teacher's guide and student activity papers, then apply the tools and process the data statistically and arrive at the results, and researcher discussed and interpreted them.
The results showed a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group and the scores of the students of the control group in post application of each of (The Deep understanding test - the measure of motivation to learn science). This difference was in favor of the experimental group, and research reached the effectiveness of teaching the two study units, and in light of the results of the results, some recommendations and proposals were formulated.
