Abstract

Abstract:
Imy-r pr was one of the most important titles that appeared in Ancient Egypt. This research aims to highlight the title in terms of what it is by showing the definition of the term, the most important titles that were associated with it, and the holders of the title. It also studies the job duties of the imy-r pr, including that they were among the funeral endowment staff, as well as their role in censusing the possessions of senior officials through examples of some of the scenes in which they appeared on the walls of Old Kingdom tombs. The research deals with the increase in the status of the imy-r pr from the beginning of the First Intermediate Period until the Middle Kingdom, when they became one of the most important employees in the royal palace, ranked third in importance after the vizier and the seal bearer. The research has shown the importance of their functional role in this period, as they became responsible for the royal Lands and livestock , as well as the expenses and revenues of the royal palace, in addition to leading of missions in the early Middle Kingdom. The research also discusses the holders of the imy-r pr title during the reign of King Amenemhat I , as well as the most important titles associated with title holders in the late Middle Kingdom.
