Abstract

.The schools of excellence in science and technology began their work for the first time in Egypt as a grant provided by the United States of America in the academic year 2011/2012, with the opening of the School of Excellence in Science and Technology STEM for the secondary stage, but previous studies and research indicated that there are many difficulties faced and the need for some requirements to achieve their goals and to benefit from the experience of America, and from this point of view the research aimed to identify the most important requirements necessary for the success of STEM schools in the performance of The role entrusted to it, and the research used the descriptive approach to its suitability to its nature to collect data and information to achieve its goals, and the research found that there are a number of difficulties facing Egyptian STEM schools, such as its limitation to the category of outstanding students and their small number compared to the number of public secondary education schools, poor funding, and then the most important requirements were identified to reform them and activate their role as one of the modern educational patterns, the most important of which is the transition to a new philosophy that seeks to provide STEM education for all, providing the necessary funding for the practice of Activities and implementation of projects related to actual reality, modification of the Amendment of Chapter Three of the Education Act of 1981 to include STEM schools.
