Abstract

The aim of the current research is to prepare an enrichment program in wisdom-based thinking, and its effectiveness in reducing cognitive distortion, and developing awareness of psychological happiness for students studying psychology at the secondary level. The nature of the current research required the use of the descriptive-analytical approach and the quasi-experimental approach. One of its designs was used, which is the experimental design with a single group based on pre- and post-treatment of the research group, due to its suitability to the objectives and hypotheses of the research. The research group was selected from the second-year secondary school students, literary section, studying psychology as a basic group for the current research, where the final number of the sample was (35) students. The cognitive achievement test for wisdom, the cognitive distortion scale, the behavioral attitudes test of happiness, the emotional aspect of happiness scale were applied, prepared by the researcher, and the enrichment program (prepared by the researcher). The research reached the following results: The effectiveness of the enrichment program in wisdom-based thinking in reducing cognitive distortion and developing awareness of psychological happiness for students studying psychology at the secondary stage, as wisdom-based thinking meets the needs of students and their multiple and renewed issues, faces the scientific and technological changes and developments that they encounter, develops their abilities to achieve, think critically and innovatively, and is interested in science and knowledge.
