Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify the conceptual framework of authentic leadership in educational institutions in terms of the concept of authentic leadership, its importance, its characteristics, the qualities of an authentic leader, and the positives and negatives of authentic leadership in educational institutions, And to identify the dimensions of authentic leadership in educational institutions, in addition to the impact of authentic leadership on educational institutions, as well as the mechanisms for developing authentic leadership in educational institutions, To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive approach was relied upon. The research concluded with a set of recommendations and proposals, including: enhancing awareness of the concept of authentic leadership among leaders and teachers in educational institutions by holding workshops and seminars, and granting leaders in educational institutions the necessary powers that enable them to establish the authentic leadership system, Developing criteria for selecting leaders of educational institutions to include authentic leadership capabilities, creating a guide for practicing authentic leadership by the Ministry of Education and distributing it to leaders of educational institutions, and the Ministry of Education adopting a charter for educational leadership that includes a set of capabilities and practices that stem from the dimensions of authentic leadership, Integrating institutional values into all aspects of work, through policies, procedures and training programmes, linking leaders’ performance assessment to their practice of authentic leadership, conducting a careful assessment of the needs of current and future leaders to identify the skills and knowledge
