Abstract

This research aims to study Quranic intertextuality in the poetry of Abdel Ghaffar Hilal (dd. 2020). The study seeks to delve into the depths of the text and to understand the meanings expressed by this intertextuality. It also examines the rhetorical mechanisms and aesthetic techniques employed by the poet to reinforce his intertextual references and highlight his skills and rhetoric‎ . The study was divided into four main patterns: The first pattern: Intertextuality with a part of the verse. The second pattern: Intertextuality with the verse. The third pattern: Intertextuality with a group of verses. The fourth pattern: Intertextuality with the Quranic story. The researcher pointed out in her analysis how the poet skillfully utilized Quranic intertextuality and the artistic and impactful connotations this intertextuality carried, which the poet used as sources to express his vision and purposes. This contributed to producing new meanings for the contemporary text and attracted the reader's mind, prompting them to contemplate the text. The study concluded with several findings, the most prominent of which are: The poet benefited from the Quran in his poetry—its structures, verses and stories—which enriched his ideas and supported his artistic goal. This gave his poetry a degree of credibility derived from the connotations of the Quranic words, reflected in the reader's perception . The researcher recommends expanding the study to explore other patterns of intertextuality in the poet's work to shed light on the rhetoric‎ of this intertextuality and thereby reveal the poet's artistic skills.
