Abstract

The problem of atheism has become a clear danger in our present time, as we find new atheists presenting false hypotheses and theories about the issue of atheism and faith, in addition to their ongoing activity in consolidating the concept of atheism and trying to refute the evidence of the existence of God and religious arguments and prove their illogicality. The researcher has chosen one of the most important knights of atheism. He is Sam Harris specifically due to the scarcity of Arabic research that deals with his philosophy, and studying the controversy of atheism and religion in Harris’s thought is gaining great importance in the field of contemporary philosophy due to his wide influence. He calls for a reconsideration of the foundations of religious faith. Based on this background, the researcher seeks to analyze the controversy of atheism. Faith in Harris’s thought and its discussion from a Kantian point of view. We will critically discuss the arguments that Harris puts forward against religion and compare them with Kant’s philosophical vision. We will begin by defining the conceptual framework for the research by defining terms such as atheism, faith, reason, religion, and ethics, and then we will move on to presenting ideas.
