The funeral games were one of the events that members of the community were keen to hold and which the elite of the wealthiest Athenian families dedicated high costs to attract the attendees and participants to the events. The research addresses the 5th century BC, the time era marked by the existence of two kinds of funeral games. first official funeral games, which were held and supervised by the state at its own expense in honor of its warriors who spent their lives in defense of the city.
