Abstract

The research aims to identify mechanisms for improving the performance of female secondary school principals in Saudi Arabia through strategic thinking. It also explores the conceptual framework for administrative performance and the state of secondary education in the Kingdom. The study involved a sample of 76 female principals. The researcher employed the descriptive approach and the SWOT method to analyze the data. The results indicated that the theme of applying strategic thinking in secondary schools had a relative weight of 66.6%, reflecting a medium degree. The theme of improving principals’ performance showed a high degree with a relative weight of 78.4%, while the mechanisms for improving administrative performance had a high relative weight of 79.8%. The obstacles to applying strategic thinking in secondary schools had a relative weight of 75.6%. The study suggests that developing mechanisms to improve the performance of female principals is crucial for adapting to the rapid and dynamic changes in education. It also recommends forming a specialized body to focus on developing these mechanisms. This research highlights the importance of strategic thinking for enhancing the leadership capabilities of female secondary school principals and the need to address barriers that hinder its full application.
