Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the theoretical foundations of sustainable leadership in educational institutions and its role in developing the performance of directors of public education departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to identify the theoretical foundations of the performance of directors of public education departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to provide procedural proposals for the role of sustainable leadership in developing the performance of directors of public education departments in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia,The study also used the descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of directors and heads of sub-departments in the general departments of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and leaders of supervision offices (directors and assistants) affiliated with the general departments of education. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: taking into account the provision of incentives and rewards that encourage creative proposals. and innovation among directors of public education departments, and the need to provide empowerment to find diverse funding sources in addition to government funding,Developing performance indicators for education departments in light of the sustainable development goals, providing opportunities to acquire technological and digital knowledge and skills for directors of public education departments to meet the current and future requirements of the era, and developing clear plans and policies that include the goals of sustainable education departments.
