This research aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed course in media education in developing media awareness among philosophy and sociology student-teacher. To achieve this, a proposed media education course was designed, alongside the preparation of an achievement test for the cognitive dimension of media awareness, an attitudes scale for the affective dimension of media awareness, and a situational test for the skill-based dimension of media awareness. The research sample consisted of (50) students in the fourth year at the Faculty of Women, Ain Shams University. The study utilized both the descriptive-analytical approach and the experimental approach (a one-group experimental design). After teaching the proposed course and applying the measurement tools before and after the course, followed by statistical analyses, the results indicated the effectiveness of the proposed media education course in developing the three dimensions of media awareness among philosophy and sociology student-teacher. The study recommended emphasizing the role of teachers in promoting media education concepts among students, raising their awareness of media-related issues, teaching them how to deal with these issues, and protecting them from misinformation and distortion amidst media and cultural openness. Additionally, the study recommended establishing specialized departments for media education at all educational levels to ensure proper implementation, evaluation, and improvement of media education practices.
