The Effectiveness of a Micro -Training in Developing Action Research Skills Among Female Teachers in the city of Makkah

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of micro-training in developing action research skills among general education teachers in the city of Makkah. To achieve the study's objective, a micro-training site was designed to provide training content to the teachers. The quasi-experimental approach was followed to verify the effectiveness of the training. The study tools included an achievement test to measure the cognitive aspect of action research skills and a product evaluation card to measure the performance aspect of action research skills. The study was conducted during the third semester of 1445 AH with a sample of general education teachers in the city of Makkah, consisting of 39 teachers selected through random sampling. After collecting and analyzing the data using appropriate statistical methods, the results showed statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests in the cognitive aspect of action research skills, in favor of the post-test, and statistically significant differences in the results of the product evaluation card for the performance aspect of action research skills, indicating the effectiveness of micro-training, in developing the action research performance skills of teachers. The study offered several recommendations, including holding training courses using micro-training to develop skills related to the professional development of male and female general education teachers, focus on developing action research skills among general education teachers, male and female, by providing support and using training strategies that contribute to developing their research skills.
