Tourism is a human phenomenon and a socio-economic activity that act as active influential forces in societies. The religious tourism market is one of the largest sectors of tourism worldwide; since the early Christian era, churches and monasteries have been established along the route of the Journey of the Holy Family in Egypt. They have helped form and stabilize human societies and urban communities related to the sites of this Holy Journey, which has geographic, demographic and cultural effects. The importance of this topic lies in the fact that the Egyptian churches and monasteries are a national heritage of historical significance. Since the dawn of Christianity, they have reflected a historical reality, catering to a state of spirituality and morality. They also have witnessed multiple successive events that made them a source of unique artistic and architectural heritage, and an archaeological treasure. Actually, Northern Upper Egypt governorates abound in important Christian sites; their geographic distribution in each governorate is discussed through the use of the descriptive analytical approach. This is to build a digital geographic database to cartographically represent the phenomenon in question and track its spatial distribution. This should facilitate the analysis of the related data, which leads to conclusions and recommendations contributing to future development decision making with regard to Christian religious attractions.
