Abstract

The aim of the research is to: Know the effectiveness of the role-playing strategy in developing life skills among first-year middle school students in the family education curriculum. The experimental method with a quasi-experimental design was applied to a sample of (80) first-year middle school students in Riyadh for the experimental group and the control group. The number of the experimental group was (40) students who studied using the role-playing strategy and the control group (40) students who studied using the traditional method. To achieve the research objective, a life skills scale and a teacher's guide were prepared. The results showed the effectiveness of the role-playing strategy in developing life skills among the students in the research sample. Based on that, the researcher came up with several recommendations, the most important of which are: Staying away from old teaching methods and using modern methods that depend on the student's participation in the learning process. Encouraging teachers to use modern strategies that work to develop life skills among students. Adopting curriculum planners for the role-playing strategy or modern strategies in developing life skills and developing the family education curriculum considering that. The most prominent proposals were the effectiveness of a proposed program to train family education teachers to use the role-playing strategy in developing life skills.
