The effect of support based on podcasting in E-Training environment on the acquisition of instructional designers skills of designing and developing E-Courses

Abstract

This study aims to design E-training environment with two levels of support (brief and detailed) based on podcasting and their effect on acquisition instructional designers' skills of designing and developing E-Courses. The researcher used the developmental research method. The study sample consisted of (18) instructional designers who's worked in producing E-courses sub centers across the country and some private companies and schools. The sample was randomly divided into two experimental groups. The experimental design used was two experimental group, with posttest-only design. The research instruments consisted of product evaluation checklist to measure the skills of designing and developing E-Courses. Design E-training environment with two levels of support (brief and detailed) based on podcasting was developed according to Mohamed Atteya khamis (ISD) model (2007). The study was conducted and appropriate statistical methods were applied using the SPSS 16. The results revealed that there were a significant difference between the two levels of support (brief and detailed) in the E-training environment in favor of the brief group in the post application of the product evaluation checklist for measure the skills of designing and developing E-Courses. The study recommends using the brief support based on podcasting in developing skills of designing and developing E-Courses
