FORESIGHT LEADERSHIP AND ROLE IN ACHIEVING COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE FOR SAUDI UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

The major purpose of the study is to produce a set of recommendations and solutions that strengthen the role of Foresight leadership in gaining competitive advantage. The study intended to determine the theoretical frameworks of Foresight leadership, competitive advantage, and the barriers to implementing Foresight leadership in Saudi universities. It also intended to establish the importance and requirements of competitive advantage in Saudi institutions. To meet the nature of the research, the study took a descriptive technique. The investigation produced a series of recommendations, which included:

- Adopting a Foresight leadership style based on distinguished and effective measurement methods to enhance competitive advantage among universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure understanding of their requirements, which is accomplished through training, advice, and introducing employees to its elements; in order to perform what is required of them according to the approved indicators.

- Developing high-quality standards that are consistent with international applications of Foresight leadership and assist the implementation of competitive advantage in Saudi universities.

- Establishing permanent committees for follow-up and oversight that comprise individuals with expertise in Foresight leadership and multiple responsibilities, specializations, and powers; to work toward competitive advantage competencies.

- Increasing and fostering competitive advantage among administrative staff at Saudi universities, as well as providing material and moral incentives to improve their effectiveness.
