Abstract

The research aims at defining the development requirements envisaged by the Egyptian universities for the special education teacher preparation to cope with digital transition through being aware of the conceptual framework of the digital transition in university education. This research also focuses on the emergence of the digital transition and its concept, rationales for applying the digital transition and its dimensions, challenges encountering the digital transition in university education, and the nature for the preparation of the special education teacher; in terms of its impact on the teacher’s roles by means of getting acquainted to the philosophy, essentiality, aspects and systems for the preparation of the special education teacher, and institutions for the preparation of the special education teacher in university education in Egypt; as well as the problems encountered during such preparation, and getting acquainted to the roles of the special education teacher in the light of the digital transition requirements. For this purpose, the research relies on the descriptive approach as it fits its nature. The research concludes a group of development requirements as envisaged by the Egyptian universities for the special education teacher preparation to cope with the digital transition that are represented in (regulatory requirements – human requirements – technical requirements), based on which, the research concludes several propositions for fulfilling such requirements; most important thereof: forming international partnerships with internationally ranked universities for the establishment of joint curricula programs that aim for the preparation of the special education teacher,
