Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the social units in Ashmun Center (Menoufia Governorate) from a geography of service perspective. The research examines their geographic distribution and studies the geographic distribution of some indicators measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the services provided by these units at the local level in Ashmun Center.
The research findings has come to the conclusions that the social units in than 88.9% of the buildings of these social units are in excellent to moderate condition, while only 11.1% are in poor condition, represented by the Magriya and Sakiyat Abu Sha'ara units. Additionally, 38.9% of these units have a high density of employees per room, reaching 6.5 employees per room in the Shatanoof unit; which may hinder the efficiency of the unit in performing its tasks. About two-thirds of the local units in the center suffer from an increase in population compared to the number of the available social units.
The research concludes with some recommendations, including the necessity to address the shortage in the number of social units in proportion to the population and area in Ashmun Center, as well as considering future population growth and ensuring easy accessibility to these units. Furthermore, there is a need to improve the efficiency of the buildings of the social units in Magriya and Sakiyat Abu Sha'ara due to their poor condition.
