The study aims to know the pottery industry since its beginning in North Africa which goes back to the Paleolithic era. This industry was the result of the urgent need for human life requirements ,The main question of the study is to identify the stages of development of the pottery industry, the type of used paste and the methods of forming it. This distinguished This industry which was simple in the beginning but it soon began to develop according to the development of social life and the progress of civilizations, It is considered one of the most important Physicial evidences of various peoples and nations from prehistoric times until now. The study relied on the method of analysis of the archaeological discoveries obtained by researchers about remains of archaeological excavations. Therefore, pottery is considered subject of chronicles after the events experienced in a particular region and reflects its economic, cultural and social aspects to us through our analysis of manufacturing , shaping the techniques and the used materials in decoration and colouring. From here we can learn about the nature of these pottery vessels, the source of its manufacture, the areas of use of pottery in North Africa and we knew the differences in level of craftsmanship by pottery makers and this study led to identify the uses of pottery in aspects of daily life, religious use and burial rituals and identifying of some archaeological examples of pottery that showed many pottery items in North Africa.
