Abstract

Islamic occasions in Fatimid Egypt are considered among the most important and prominent topics on which many poets wrote, and whose poems were kindled therein. Its importance is centered on the historical, religious and social connotations it contains that have contributed to identifying many features of the Fatimid era, which many historical sources have overlooked. It was divided into general Islamic occasions and Shiite occasions. Celebrating them was a means of calling to the Ismaili Shiite doctrine and getting closer to the Egyptian people - known for their great love for the family of the Prophet. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him - the caliphs participated in it, . To revive the prestige of the Fatimid state in the hearts of its enemies, so that no one would be able to fight it, or think about invading it. The poems that were recited on those occasions also showed the prosperity of the literary aspect and the ability of poets to describe social events in an accurate manner consistent with what was mentioned in historical sources. Thus, it became a rich, flowing source of events that depict the details of Fatimid society, and the research deals with examples of occasion poetry Islamic studies in the Fatimid era, for example but not limited to them, by taking the descriptive and analytical approach to reach the objective features and historical, religious and social connotations that characterize the poetry of Islamic occasions in the Fatimid era.
