Abstract

This study aims to identify the patterns of communication activities within the media management of the Ministry of Civil Aviation in Egypt, as an economic and service institution comprising several companies and affiliated bodies. It emphasizes the importance of communication in engaging both internal and external audiences of the ministry. Given that the civil aviation sector is vital to the Egyptian state; it is crucial to assess the extent to which the ministry adheres to quality standards and indicators by monitoring its communication activities. Furthermore, the study seeks to understand the communication skills of practitioners, particularly, in light of the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which purpose is to optimize and maximize resources, attract more investments, stimulate air traffic and tourism to Egypt, thereby supporting the national economy and achieving a qualitative leap for the Egyptian aviation sector, as well as enhancing its regional and international standing. The research is based on the functionalist approach, with a particular focus on the contributions of Talcott Parsons and the functional constraints identified by Robert Merton. The study employed a survey method using a questionnaire to collect information and data. The study sample consisted of communication practitioners in the departments of media, public relations, internal audit and governance, and the central administration of strategic management, totaling 100 individuals.
