Abstract

This study aims to develop an augmented reality book with two levels of support (brief and detailed) and to investigate its effect on the acquisition of interactive display operating and using skills among graduate students. The researchers used the Developmental Research method. The study sample consisted of 66 graduate students (general diploma) in education at the Faculty of Women, Ain Shams University. The sample was randomly divided into two experimental groups. The experimental design used was the extended single experimental group, with posttest-only design. The research instruments consisted of an observation checklist to measure the skills of operating and using interactive display. The augmented reality book with two levels of support (brief and detailed) was developed according to of Mohamed Atteya khamis (ISD) model (2007). The study was conducted and appropriate statistical methods were applied using the SPSS 16.The results revealed that there were no significant differences between the two levels of support (brief and detailed) in the augmented reality book in the post application of the observation checklist for the skills of operating and using interactive display. The study recommends using the two levels support (brief and detailed) in augmented reality books for the development of practical skills and studying support design variables in augmented reality books.
