Abstract

This study aims to highlight the importance of the pragmatic approach as a new linguistic approach in the study of language, looking for a solution to many linguistic problems neglected by other linguistics. Pragmatics is an extension of the efforts of the functional direction, which believes that the communication process goes beyond that to external elements represented in everything that surrounds the conversational process; In order to clarify the intentions of the speaker, and his meanings that are required to be delivered to the addressee which allows identifying the human capabilities of linguistic communication. Therefore, Rudolph Carnap considered pragmatics the base of linguistics. Because the meanings of speech also the results from the semantics through the circumstances of the context. This is what gave this field a new epistemological dimension in which sciences overlap. This is what the current study came to prove by employing the analytical descriptive approach, and choosing the pragmatic approach to analyze the story of Moses -peace be upon him- with the good man in Surat Al-Kahf; This is because of the Quranic discourse of uniqueness over all discourses. And to show the impact of the Pragmatic context (verbal and actual) on understanding events and changing attitudes accordingly.
The study showed the effectiveness of the pragmatic approach and its validity for all linguistic discourses, due to the capacity of pragmatic, because of its various sources.
