The Extent To which The Sequence Of Information Is Included In The English Textbook For The Fourth Grade Of Primary School

Abstract

The aim of this research is to help clarify the importance of sequencing information on English language course and help in developing English language course in addition to the role of sequencing information on students' acquisition and preservation of information. The researchers followed the descriptive analytical method in it, and the research sample was limited to the English language book for the fourth grade of primary school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For the fourth dimension, "sequence of information under one paragraph in the lesson," with (85) repetitions, with a rate of (40%), with a (high) degree of preference. Followed by the third axis, "sequence and consistency of information under study", with (57) repetitions, with a rate of (26%), with a (medium) degree of preference. Followed by the second axis, "sequence of subjects under one section of the lessons," with (48) repetitions, with a rate of (22%), with a (medium) degree of preference. The least recurrence of the first axis was "the sequence of topics and their graduation from the specific to the general (in a hierarchical manner) in relation to the units" with a frequency (22) and a rate of (10%) with a (low) degree of preference. The study came out with a set of recommendations, namely: working on preparing the student and providing a brief overview of the basic vocabulary related to everyday topics familiar to fourth-grade students, such as family, school, hobbies, food, and animals.
