The extent of kindergarten teachers' practice of the Montessori curriculum from the perspective of educational supervisors.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to investigate the actual practices of kindergarten teachers who use the Montessori curriculum, from the perspective of educational supervisors. The researcher utilized the descriptive analytical method as it was deemed suitable for achieving the study objectives. The study sample consisted of 28 kindergarten teachers who were randomly selected and assessed using observation cards as a research tool. The study found that the level of proficiency of kindergarten teachers in Montessori skills was high, with an average of 2.69 and a standard deviation of 0.321. The most proficient skill among the teachers was "social interaction" with an average of 2.77 and a standard deviation of 0.445, while the least proficient skill was "symbolic interaction" with an average of 2.64 and a standard deviation of 0.313. The order of proficiency of kindergarten teachers in Montessori skills was as follows: social interaction, followed by visual discrimination, then listening skills, speaking skills, and finally symbolic interaction. Based on these results, the study provided a number of recommendations and suggestions.
