Historical Etymological Analytical study for the difference pronunciation for the Coptic letter Hori in the ancient Egyptian Language

Abstract

The Coptic language, in terms of grammar, and pronunciation, is the last written and linguistic stage in the development of the ancient Egyptian language. The ancient Egyptian language was multi-dialectal; As it was developing with the development of the era, and it differed according to the place; The dialects of Upper Egypt differed from the dialects of Lower and Middle Egypt. Of course, there were many Coptic dialects.
Bohairic; Sahidic; Akhmimic ;Fayyumic;. etc.), until it reached thirty-six dialects, which expressed the tongue of the people of Egypt in its different regions, even if the phonetic value was written in the letters of the Greek alphabet, and its number is twenty-four letters, in addition to seven letters Demotic. containing letter Hori. ,the researcher studied the vocabulary of the Berlin Dictionary, which is the sixth part of the Berlin Dictionary of the Ancient Egyptian Language, (Wb. VI), containing an index of Coptic vocabulary, and its translation into German, with a reference to its Etymology. ,the researcher makes database for the Coptic Hori vocabulary .,Where they expressed four phonemic values, in the dictionary of the ancient Egyptian language, which are (e, h, kh, g),
The study showed that the sound of “Ha” is considered the highest percentage of the sounds of the Coptic “Hori” letter., as it got 83 percent of the total number of one hundred and sixty-four words., and this is the best hearing of the consonants for Sahidic dialect.
