The relationship between altruistic behavior and narcissistic personality disorder among female university students

Abstract:
The study aimed to reveal the relationship between altruistic behavior and some narcissistic personality disorders among female university students, and to reveal the extent of the difference in the degree of altruistic behavior according to the specialization (scientific - literary), and to reveal the extent of the difference in the degree of some narcissistic personality disorders according to the specialization (scientific - literary) among university students, The study sample consisted of (210) female students from the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, students whose ages ranged between (18-24 years), and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the scale of altruistic behavior prepared by the researcher, and the scale of narcissistic personality disorder (NPS) prepared by Mohamed Ibrahim Saafan (2008), and the results reached The study indicates that there is a statistically significant inverse correlation (0.01) between altruistic behavior and narcissistic personality disorders, and there are statistically significant differences (0.01) attributed to the variable of specialization (literary - scientific) in favor of students of theoretical colleges on the scale of altruistic behavior among university students, and there are no statistically significant differences in the degrees of literary and scientific majors on the total score of the scale of narcissistic personality disorders among female university students.
