Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the level of biology teachers' practice of scientific inquiry skills in the city of Unaizah. To achieve this goal, the researcher used the descriptive method, and the research tool was an Observation list to identify the level of biology teachers' practice of scientific inquiry skills in the city of Unaizah. The research sample consisted of secondary school biology teachers. The observation card was applied to the teachers during the third semester of AH. The results showed that the practice of scientific inquiry skills among biology teachers was weak overall, and the most common practices were that the teacher uses interactive whiteboards and tablet devices in the classroom, links the lesson to the students' daily life, provides feedback to the students' knowledge, and helps students develop their creativity by employing their knowledge and skills, and trains them on developing their questions about inquiry. There were statistically significant differences between the responses of biology teachers attributed to the variables of years of experience and educational rank. The researcher recommended conducting further studies to measure the level of scientific inquiry among other communities of teachers and trying to reveal its relationship with other variables such as gender and educational qualifications, and holding workshops and courses to train teachers on how to plan lessons according to the requirements of scientific inquiry.
