Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify the degree of Islamic Studies teachers' practice of alternative assessment skills for the intermediate stage from the viewpoint of educational supervisors in Al-Majma'ah Governorate, and to uncover the obstacles to the application of alternative assessment skills by Islamic Studies teachers for the intermediate stage, as well as to propose a perception to increase the efficiency of Islamic Studies teachers' alternative assessment skills for the intermediate stage. The study sample consisted of Islamic Studies teachers, and the research tool was a observation card. The study adopted the descriptive survey method. The results showed that the degree of Islamic Studies teachers' practice of alternative assessment methods, from the viewpoint of educational supervisors in Al-Majma'ah Governorate, was moderate. The results also showed no statistically significant differences in the degree of practice of Islamic Studies teachers' alternative assessment skills for the intermediate stage from the viewpoint of educational supervisors in Al-Majma'ah Governorate, except for the peer assessment method, which was attributed to the variable of years of experience. Based on the results, the study presented several recommendations, including focusing on practical and skill-based aspects in the curricula according to alternative assessment tools.
