1- Research Title: Social Media Applications and The Phenomenon of Alienation. 2- Research Aim: Uncovering the relationship between the Egyptian universities youth's use of social media applications, and their level of alienation. 3- Research Methodology: The research based on the survey method. 4- Research Sample: The research utilized a purposive sample of 400 individual of Egyptian universities youth's consisting of males and females from Ain Shams University and October 6 University. 5- Research Tools: The research relied on the survey questionnaire. 6- Research Results: A- The research found that the Egyptian universities youth's sample would prefer to use “Facebook”, “WhatsApp” and “YouTube” over other social media applications. B- The research showed that the vast majority (87.5%) of the sample use social media applications with a high or medium intensity. C- The research showed that more than half of the sample members feel a high or medium level of alienation (62%). D- The research found a statistically significant correlation between the measure of alienation as a whole, and the intensity of the Egyptian universities youth's use of social media applications, and The value of the correlation coefficient was (0.235).
