Abstract

This study seeks to monitor the images and events of political violence in the Egyptian society through a socio-historical analysis of the period from 1948 to 2010, and the study deals with the economic, political and social factors in each period of rule of former presidents, with an analysis of the forces that practiced violence in each period and the images of violence that prevailed In those periods and their causes. The results revealed that political violence took many forms during those periods: demonstrations, riots, rebellions, limited strikes, assassination attempts, assassinations, coup attempts, targeting statesmen and public and political figures, and targeting police and economic institutions and tourist places. operations of religious groups. Workers, students and some other protest movements. It was found that the events of political violence increased during the periods of the first half of the fifties, and the reason for this was the tendency of the Free Officers Organization to establish itself as a political system and its tendency to achieve revolutionary transformations in society, which led to sharp confrontations with other political forces, and during the era of President Sadat, the negative effects of the policy of economic openness and peace with Israel; This led to the creation of more hotbeds of tension and explosion in society. During the era of President Mubarak, the Egyptian people pinned aspirations and hopes on him upon assuming power, but they were not achieved to the required extent, and that period witnessed many violent incidents.
