Some of the Familial and Social Factors and Their Relation to Internet Addiction among Sample of Secondary Stage Students

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the relationship between some family and social factors and some contemporary adolescent problems, specifically adolescent addiction to the Internet, the research relied on the descriptive and correlational approach to suit the objectives and questions of the research, and the descriptive research sample was(90)male and female students in the secondary stage, with an age ranging from (15: 18) years, and the scale of parental treatment methods was applied from prepared by the researcher", and the scale of values (Mahmoud Al-Sayed and Maher Al-Hawari, 2016), and the scale of the group of comrades (Adel Abdullah, 1991), and the scale of Internet addiction ( Sultan Ayedh Al-Osaimi, 2016, and the research reached a set of results, the most important of which are: There is a statistically significant correlation between the negative parental treatment methods"neglect and militancy" and adolescent addiction to the Internet, while there was no correlation between adolescent addiction to the Internet and the democratic method, adolescent addiction to the Internet was associated with religious, theoretical, economic and political values, and arelationship was found between the impact of the group of comrades and their addiction to the Internet, and in light of the results of the research, a number of recommendations and proposals were made for other future research.
