Abstract

This research aims to study The virtual conditional clause in the oath formula in late Egyptia, where The oath is taken as a solemn appeal to divine authority, a god, gods, or the pharaoh who was himself a god This appeal is either assertory, confirming the truth of a statement or a declaration, or promissory, in witness of the inviolability of a promise or an undertaking. In other words, the assertory oath is an attestation with regard to the present or past ,and it consists of the oath particle with what swear and the swear in the name of ,while the promissory oath is a vow with regard to the future, and consists of the oath particle with the swearer by it , then the swearing in the name of (protasis) or the oath answer clause , Then the third part, which comes with a statement of the penalties that the individual will be subject to in the event of failure to comply with the oath answer clause , always comes (protasis) in the conjunctive form and which comes in this form mtw.f sDm,it consider the virtual condition clause in the oath formula and is translated in the sense of (if..) , This is due to the translation and analysis of the clause that follows, the oath formula of the of the promissory type carries with it a virtual condition clause followed by the apodosis clause.
