Abstract

The study aimd to test the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral counseling program for developing perceived social support, which would reduce Alexithymia symptoms in a sample of coronary artery patients. The experimental group in the total score of social support scale and its domains in the pre and post measurements, and that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean ranks of the experimental group members’ scores in the total score of the social support scale and its domains in the post and follow-up measurements, in addition to that there are Statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean score of the experimental group members in the total score of the Alexithymia scale and its domains in the pre and post measurements, and that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the scores of the experimental group members in the total score. For alexithymia scale and its domains in the dimensionai and follow-up measurements.
