Abstract

The Islamic Library is abound with a lot of explanations for the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ chiefly the explanation of Al Imam Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani for "Sahih Al-Bukhari" so called "Fath al-Bari for explaining Sahih Al-Bukhari"

The significance of that book is due to the value of the explained book that is the most authentic book after Al-Quran, in addition to the scientific position of the author as well as the scientific value of the explanation.

This thesis is taking up a lot of issues through the explanation of Ibn Hajar to the book of "Sahih Al-Bukhari" in his book "Fath al-Bari for explaining Sahih Al-Bukhari" through which he elaborates some of the sayings and explanations by the former scholars such as Al-Imam An-Nawawi and then he accepts some opinions and refuses the others and he objects to some of them and rectify them scientifically. Those rectifications vary; the reason for them could by related to some words of the Ahadiths mentioned, how Rawis are trustworthy or by authorizing something about which Al-Imam An-Nawawi said it is not.

Ibn Hajar sometimes relies on clearly authentic narration unlike Al-Imam An-Nawawi who may not rely on any evidence in some issues. Hence, accepting or refusing the Hadith.

The rectification of Ibn Hajar is sometimes rightful while in other times Al-Imam An-Nawawi is the rightful one while ibn Hajar's rectification is misplaced and hence the value of the book "Fath al-Bari' becomes prominent.
