Abstract

The city of Miletus is one of the most important Greek cities in Asia Minor, so the historian Herodotus called it the gift of the Meander River due to the great importance and roles that Miletus played in different eras, so the researcher chose to study and analyze the political and economic aspect of the city of Miletus. Asia Minor and the formation of the Militic character shows us that the city of Miletos made contributions to Greek civilization, as well as Athens that it was the pioneer in the founding of Miletus In Ionia and the contributions of Miletus were represented by scholars in the various fields that enlightened Greece.We all know that Miletus was originally an Athenian Greek colony in Ionia.

The problem of the research was to ask several questions, including, is the settlement role of the city of Miletos the same in all the places where colonies were established, what is the relationship between the people of Miletus, the mother city and the secondary colonies?
Through this, the research seeks to achieve several goals, which are to identify the settlement role of the city of Miletos in several places, including the colony of Nokratis in Egypt and various settlements in the Black Sea and the Aegean Sea, and the emergence of relations between the mother city of Miletus and the secondary colony.
