Abstract This research aims at studying and analyzing the temperature and its regional and temporal variation in Libya. This is accomplished through tracing the fluctuation of the annual and seasonal averages of temperature as well as its general trend line in order to detect the amount of change during the period from 1960 till 2017 and to identify the factors that led to these variation Through applying Kerner s equation, the study reveals that the continental climate is the dominant feature of Libya the highlands facing the western headwind. Although the thermal range in the medial and southern stations reaches to 16.7 it hits 6C in the northern coastal ones. Eventually, as it is shown, the temperature s general tendency heads towards a of the twenty first century with an average of (1.1c). The highest temperature rise all over the world . The period ranging from 1940 to 1970 was the most common time of temperature falling
