Characteristics of transformational leadership in the faculties of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in the light of The Bass Model: An Applied Study

Abstract

The study aims to try to identify the characteristics of the transformational leadership style within the framework of the Bass Model, and the extent of its realism within the work environment of the faculties of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Heliopolis Branch. The study proceeded from the decision-making theory of Herbert Simon and the theory of the technical sociological system of Talcott Parsons; For their interest in the structural characteristics of the organization, and one of the modern management models in the leadership literature is "Bass's Multidimensional Model of Transformational Leadership". The study is descriptive, analytical, and qualitative in nature, as it relied on the application of the interview guide to (33) leaders of the Academy's faculties, with their academic and professional activity being diverse. The study concluded: that the leaders in the faculties of the Academy work confidently with their subordinates, striving in multiple ways to achieve effective results, through the dimensions of transformational leadership. Before his personal needs, while the inspirational stimulus dimension focuses on the actions and behaviors of the leader, which enriches the subordinates' love of challenge. He pays special attention to the needs of his subordinates and is keen to encourage them. Thus, these dimensions within the Academy's faculties motivate employees to develop their organizational performance and ensure the achievement of the organization's goals.
