Abstract

The research aimed to develop deep understanding, reflective thinking skills and creative problem solving skills for sixth graders, by preparing a proposed model for teaching science based on the principles of TRIZ theory for sixth graders. To achieve this, the semi-experimental approach was used. Where the research community consisted of all sixth grade students in the Sabya Educational Administration of the General Administration of Education in Jazan Region. As for the research sample, it consisted of (68) students; They were randomly selected from two schools; Where Al-Aydabi Primary School represented the experimental group, and the number of its students was (34) students, while Al-Hussainiya Primary School represented the control group, and the number of its students was (34). As for the research tools, they included the deep understanding test, the reflective thinking skills test, and the creative problem solving test. The results of the research revealed a great effectiveness of the proposed model according to the principles of TRIZ theory in developing deep understanding, reflective thinking skills, and creative problem solving. Where it was found that there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the dimensional application of tests of deep understanding, reflective thinking skills and creative problem solving in favor of the experimental group students. Where the values of the effect size amounted to eta square (²η) respectively for the three variables (0.89; 0.91; 0.93).
