Developing institutional performance in Egyptian universities in the light of the experience of the University of Michigan in the United States of America

Abstract

This research aims to identify the conceptual framework of institutional performance in Egyptian universities in terms of presenting the concept of institutional performance with its components and philosophy, standards of institutional performance in Egyptian universities, the factors supporting institutional performance in Egyptian universities, the elements of institutional performance and its types, and characteristics and indicators of institutional performance. To this end, the researcher used the experience of some advanced universities, such as the University of Michigan in the United States of America, to help present a set of procedural proposals to develop institutional performance in Egyptian universities by adopting the experience of the University of Michigan, which is one of the top 10 universities in the world.
This study used the descriptive approach to achieve the research objectives of identifying the reality of institutional performance in Egyptian universities.
The most important results of the study were addressing the university education system in the state of Michigan and benefiting from it in developing institutional performance in Egyptian universities.
The research reached several recommendations and procedural proposals for the development of institutional performance. Among the recommendations are the continuity of laying foundations and a clear philosophy for the development of institutional performance and procedural steps to be strictly implemented.
