The Effect of Using Project-Based Learning on Developing Some 21st Century Skills in Science for Preparatory Stage Students

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to study the impact of using project-based learning and measure its impact on developing some 21st century skills among first-grade students in science. To achieve this goal, a teacher’s guide was prepared for teaching units of sound and objects in spacein science subject, and an activity booklet for the student to know what he should do while studyingeThe research tools were prepared, including an achievement test, and a test of critical thinking skills as one of the skills of the 21st century.
The research followed the descriptive analytical approach, and the experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design, and the research was applied to a group of first year middle school students to know the effect of using project-based learning, and the results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.01) between the average scores of the group students. Experimental before and after the experiment in both the achievement test and its levels, and the critical thinking skills test in favor of the post application. Some skills of the 21st century The researcher chose to develop critical thinking skills in science for first year middle school students.
