An Enrichment Program based on Heritage Approach for Developing Tourism Awareness in History for Second Year Secondary School Students

Abstract

The current research aimed at detecting the efficacy of the enrichment program based on heritage approach in developing tourism awareness among second secondary grade students, The descriptive analytical as well as the experimental method have been applied, and the research sample consisted of two groups, the first is experimental which consists of (35) students and the other is a control group which consists of (35) students of second year secondary students who study the history course in government schools. The research reached many results, the most important of them are: the presence of a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post application of the knowledge aspect of the dimensions of tourism awareness in favor of the experimental group, and the presence of a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post application of the aspect test The skills of the dimensions of tourism awareness for the benefit of the experimental group, and the presence of a statistically significant difference at (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the dimensional application of the emotional aspect scale for the dimensions of tourism awareness in favor of the experimental group. In light of the results, the research endorsed many recommendations, top of which are: encouraging history teachers to use the heritage approach in teaching.
