Abstract

Abstract:

Poetry is a type of literature that conveys expressed thoughts and feelings. It is connected to the human nature, going along, developing and transcending through time. Therefore, Fosoul Magazine was interested in studying its concepts. This research was limited to Fosoul first period, during which Dr. Ezz El Din Ismail was the editor-in-chief. He tried to use the Magazine as a bridge linking both original Arab culture and contemporary cultural reality. This research discussed views of contemporary poets, ancient and modern critics. This research was trying to answer the question of Dr. Ezz El Din Ismail, the editor-in-chief, "Is there only one concept of poetry? Concepts, as they change, though still linked to poetry itself, are mainly related to matters out of scope of the poetry." (Badawi, 1981, p. 195). The researcher used the descriptive approach to present the most important views that monitored the development of the poetic concept. The research concluded that the poetic concept has changed from focusing only on meaning, meter and rhyme to another level, where imagination, style and effect take the upper hand. The magazine presented a new concept of poetry, considering the same as a new creation of reality. Contemporary poets agree that poetry has a constant unchanging reality, i.e., the expression of the human experience. The research also recommended conducting comparative studies of Poetry Vision between Fosoul and other critic magazines, such as Alamat.
