Abstract

The present study aimed to verify the effect of a program based on PASS theory- cognitive theory in the development of cognitive processes such as Planning and Attention processes in a sample of children with learning disabilities. The study sample consisted of (10) children, aged (9-15) who have been diagnosed as learning disabilities. The study used the scale of the cognitive assessment system (CAS), the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale 5th edition, the diagnostic battery measures for learning disabilities, and a program for the development of attention process. The methodology of the study was the Quasi-Experimental method of one group design of two pre and post testes, and measure the difference between the average scores of the students in the two testes, the researcher used statistical test (Wilcoxon). The results ascurtained the validity of the hypotheses of the study, which considers the existence of differences between the two average scores of two pre and post applications in the Planning process. And differences between the two average scores of two pre and post applications in the Attention process. There are no statistically significant differences between scores ranks mean of experimental group in post-follow-up in Planning and Attention processes
